First Contribution Patch Testing

Today I completed my very first open-source contribution by doing patch testing! My goal was to find a ticket that would be a good place to start as I begin my development journey. It was a little challenging at first because I am still getting used to the WordPress ecosystem and developing my technical skills.

Luckily, I didn’t have to write anything too complex. I used WordPress Studio to set up an environment that met all the trunk testing requirements. From there, I manually updated the theme configuration files to implement modern Dart Sass instead of deprecated node-sass dependencies. After clearing my local terminal setup, I was successfully able to compile the stylesheets and verify that the theme looks completely correct on my local site!
